The storm that is due starts overnight with an impressive show of thunder and lightning. It is still raining by the time we get up, so we get everyone bundled up in rain gear and then pack up and hike off into the rain.

By the time we reached Brazeau Lake, it had been raining continuously for 10-12 hours. There is a bridge out just before the lake, which meant we needed to ford across the outflow of the lake. The trip reports I read before our hike said it should be an easy crossing, but the overnight rain made it a bit spicier than we hoped for.
Then it was a day of hiking in the rain with occasional breaks. And just when there was a long enough break that we started to dry off a bit, it started to hail and then Toothless started to wail.

And he continued to wail that he wanted to go to his bed at home off and on for the remaining few kilometres to camp.
Eventually, we reached camp, dried everyone off, snuggled up in the tent, and Toothless forgot about his desire to go home.
