We started at our sloped campsite and got going at a good time. Toothless didn’t want to hike right away but got carried. That was fine. It would be a long day so I was fine giving us a kick start.
The day was mostly a descent that was sun exposed. It was pretty. It was hot.
I think it’s like 8.5 miles for a water carry. And it happened to end up one of the hottest days we have had (which I didn’t realize until later). It must have been 30 degrees C. It was HOT.

We burned through our water. We weren’t far off with our estimate of how much we needed but we had no extra. Thankfully there was a water cache (unexpected) on trail that we used to keep us going to the last mile and a half. Then there was water under the overpass. And beer.

Natasha had a beer. I made Gatorade. Then a trail angel gave us a ride into Julian.
We set up at the Legion on their patio and went to Quecho for dinner. We ate on the back patio. Great food. Some drinks. Lil Flier had some of Natashas dinner. I ate an enchilada. Toothless had cheese quesadillas. Toothless had a Jaritos and was excited. There were kids toys out back and he played. It was really nice.

Sleeping on the patio was cool. Toothless liked the stars. We got to charge our phones and sleep for free.
