What an awesome site. We woke in good moods

The wind let up last night so we were fairly warm. There was some condensation in the tent but it evaporated quickly this morning. Since we had snow access we used it for diaper laundry and got going a few minutes later than usual.

We had an awesome morning. It was beautiful. Toothless played in the snow. We took the low valley alt and it was all easy to walk snow. Very pretty. Very suitable for Toothless to play in. The views today were fantastic. It was a clear day and we could hear birds singing this morning. We saw a number of animal tracks in the snow.

Toothless ended up hiking (aka playing) most of the day. I think we made it around 7 miles today. We could have gone further but stopped at Strawberry Junction campground which has a porta potty and was just a pleasant place to be. Toothless has space to play and run. Lil Flier practiced standing. I was able to hang out in the tent with her and play. I read the kids some stories while Natasha cooked.

I think it’ll be a warm night. We have no wind up here right now and it’s fairly warm. I’m not sure if we will take another short day tomorrow or if we will go far. We will see what we encounter but I’m so glad we have had an easier time today with minimal blowdown and no high consequence sections.
