We started an hour early to try to hit the cooler weather.

That didn’t work.

Again like 30 deg by 9am.

I carried Toothless nearly all day. We were staying at a trail angels place tonight. Our goal is the water faucet then her place.

We made good time.

We met rattly the rattlesnake (Toothless named it). Natasha walked right on by then the rattlesnake was like “wtf” and rose up and rattled at me – I was cruising like 5 feet behind Natasha. So I was right next to it when it rattled. And I very bravely stood there and took the below photo before walking ahead. I definitely didn’t yell “wooaah. Snake!!” And jump back 5 feet. Then wait for it to chill out before hiking again. Nope. Definitely took the below accurate photo.

A big theme today was just all of the flowers. It was pretty.

We got to the water faucet in the morning. Filled up. Cooled off. And crushed it to the overpass. We got there at like noon. Got a ride by Nitsy. Went to In and Out and ate a bunch of burgers and shakes. Then went to Nitsy place. Ran some errands. Bought more food and snacks. The kids hung out and bad fun. Lil Flier had a bath. Timber was playing music on a guitar. Lil Flier was bouncing to the music. So cool.

We were fed well. Got to talk to the other hikers.

Merlin gifted Toothless a Lite AF fanny pack. It was a prototype – Merlin has a relationship with the company and this was a one off. It was a very kind gesture and Toothless was stoked. He also got a necklace and charm from Nitsy. Lots of conversation with Timber and the others.

We had a good sleep in the bunkhouse.
