I didn’t think it would be but it was a good day.
Toothless started out being disregulated and hitting me. I notice this happens sometimes when we talk to another hiker. Not every time but sometimes. Maybe he’s getting overwhelmed. This morning it was a woman right outside our camp asking about the trip. In the morning Toothless just needs to move. The pause and transition shifted him from being happy and playful to hitting me. So we got over that after a half a mile or so and then the morning really took shape.
He did so much playing on trail and when it got really chill he was running and jumping with joy. I think he liked the environment. I did too.
Toothless hiked all day with no assistance. 8.3 miles.
We checked out the historic coon creek cabin. It was pretty at some point. It’s not in great condition but it’s not totally a write off. I could see the beauty and honestly doesn’t look like much is needed to make it look great again. I am disappointed that hikers scratch their names into the wood. Someone lit a fire on the floor using a large log. Insane.
The toilet and tables and bear lockers were in great shape. One bear locker was full of trash but the others were clean.
We met pardner there. Had a nice chat. He moved on.
We made it to a shared camp with a few other hikers. Bedtime went well.
