We left camp. We had a warm night. We also had a warm morning. It’s so weird having a hot night. I’m so used to the cold night in the desert here then those hot nights feel so uncomfortable.
Today we only have 5 miles on trail to go. Then like three miles to highway.
Secret was talking about snakes and the legless lizard I read about in our SoCal natural history book. It’s so cool to have a way to look up the animals and plants we see. He asks questions about it. What makes it a lizard and not a snake? How did you learn about this? Dude I just read it in this book!
Other questions:
- where does a snake poop out of?
- Why can’t you eat rotten grapes?
Overall pretty fun banter. He keeps mentioning that he doesn’t mind being bored. He’s been coming up with really funny jokes and interesting ideas. It’s fun.
Today we had a nice view.
And NO dirt bikes
We pushed down to the road quickly and then decided to try to hitch a while. Literally within two seconds we got a ride into Wrightwood. We have ridiculous luck.
We rented a nice place with a playground in Wrightwood. The plan is to zero. Looking forward to it.
