Today we can finally head to Tehachapi.

It’s windy!

For a moment we walk over a ridge and the wind calms and Secret sees a train. He squeals – TRAIN! Awesome.

We make it to the highway relatively early. We bump into Muff and another hiker as we walk along the road.

We see a car at the overpass. It’s a trail angel waiting! Rachel was dropping off other hikers, saw us with the kids and waited to give us a ride to town. She’s awesome.

We get to town and the cafe is closed so Rachel just brings us to her home, lets us cook breakfast and use the bathroom. Offers a shower. Let’s the kids play in the garden. Fantastic.

Then she drives us all to the post office and Walmart. Then to our hotels.

What an awesome end to this section of the trail.
