It was overall a good day.
I slept not great but better than I expected.
Secret was all about talking to dad today. So him and I almost exclusively hiked together all day even when I was carrying Lil Flier. Which was probably a good thing. Party City got whatever cold Lil Flier has so she needs time to recover. But still after being at the receiving end of the ramblings and musings of a 4 year old all day without breaks is exhausting.
The weather was much cooler. 25 to 30 degrees today. Compared to nearly 40 degrees a couple days ago. We had more water and didn’t consume as much. It was easier to eat during the day.
We did have a few incidents today where Secret was being unfriendly. But mostly he was great. And he was helpful throughout the day.
We got trail magic (chilli, pop, shade) at Chimney Creek. That was nice. We headed to the campsite and camped there. There are pit toilets so I’m happy to have those. The water at the creek is also strong flowing so that’s awesome – could even easily backtrack to it on our way out (there’s also water at the campground but it’s apparently pretty far away).
At camp, Lil Flier got bit by an ant. Which clearly hurt. It’s a large red splotch. She cried hard. Secret then got disregulated. What a hard evening.
I’m looking forward to sleeping. On flat ground!
