It was a slow day to KMS. We got there! But at like 2:30 or 3pm.
There was zero motivation for ice cream or snacks by Secret. He just would rather play with pipe gates on trail. And so_many_pipe_gates. He was so distracted by the area (which is a pretty neat transition IMO) and we barely got there with enough time to get our errands done.
When you arrive someone rings a cow bell. It’s pretty cool! Everyone felt welcome and there was a good mood floating around.
We had a bazillion packages. We didn’t make their record but 6 or 7 packages felt like a lot.
To make it worse, one of our packages was shipped twice so we had an extra one, and we had to have several items redirected to KMS due to them not getting delivered earlier on trail. It was a lot to handle!
We set up on the patio, bought a bunch of snacks and got the packages and sorted through a resupply, Secrets microspikes, our bounced ahead snow gear and an umbrella we were supposed to get in Cajon Pass.
The bathroom was clean and not as overwhelmed as I heard it was earlier in the season.
Secret played on the horse swing and with some of the patio games and the soccer ball.
We left and road walked to the campsite – for a bit. A park worker drove by and offered us a ride in their little golf cart thing. Secret instantly accepted. Secret in the front and the rest of us on a tailgate. Normally Party City would be annoyed at getting a ride instead of walking but it’s hard to be annoyed at a 4 year old having a blast talking to the park worker, sitting in a cool vehicle next to a friendly dog. And we had fun too on the tailgate.
We got driven around the park and picked a nice spot close to the trail and bathrooms. Secret had some difficulty at bedtime as usual but we all settled in and had a good sleep
