It’s been beautiful again. The meadows keep going. Water by bridge this morning caused us to have a larger than planned break. There are so many birds by the water – it’s beautiful. Secret played in the water for longer than intended.
I stopped at Cow Creek for a rest. Despite the name it’s beautiful.
Feel so wealthy. Also feel so greedy. I drink so much water now.
I slept awesome.
Our packs carry so well. Jan @ Nunatak is a genius.
The routine is settling in with storing food outside of tent in bear cans. It motivates Secret to get dressed so he can eat! But today Lil Flier had an unexpected diaper change so that slowed us down. We need a little more practice. I think we’ll figure it out!
Secret found a flat piece of wood today that he wanted to be a surf board. He likes experimenting to see if things will float in the water or sink. With this one, he wanted to stand on it in the water and float!

We saw another snow plant (Sarcodes), which was a nice surprise. We managed to look into it more, and it’s pretty neat. I need to find a book on the plants and animals in the Sierras like I had on SoCal. We’ll see if we can find one.
Today wasn’t a huge day. We hiked 8.5-ish miles. We camped at a beautiful spot. Secret played. Lil Flier crawled and stood using boulders. Camp was at our highest elevation yet at this trip: 10,374 feet.
