The theme today was losing the immersion of being on trail.

We saw and heard lots and lots of jets and air force planes today. Secret went wild. It was cool but takes you out of feeling like you are in the wilderness. You hear the boom – then look up, and the jet is in a totally different spot (or already completely past your point of view). So all day it was BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Secret climbed nearly every boulder.

We saw a cool boulder that looked like a dinosaur.

Lots of beautiful views and meadows. The views today were diverse! It’s hard to get used to that. Some days in SoCal you feel like you’ve been in the same place all day. Here, I felt like I was in several different places.

Secret cleaned up a fire pit with a shovel (that was left by the site) during a break and had some water play by a creek. That kid will keep busy with anything.

We hiked 10 miles today with a lot of elevation despite Secret playing. It was a pretty fun day.
