PCT 2025 Day 22: so much sun

We started day 22 at our usual time. It was too late. We got out of the forest in like half an hour then onto the desert again. It was HOT. So sun exposed.

So at like 9am it was mid 20 deg C. We found a shade rock at and it was 17 deg. But by lunch it was nearly 30 even in the shade.

I carried Toothless all morning. In the carrier at the start. Then in shoulders. We made it over 6 miles by lunch in the heat this way. Then we traded. Toothless walked more and we slowed a bit. Which is fine but so hard in the heat.

We got to a campsite at around 4 pm and just sat in the shade to wait out the heat. Set up camp and had a hot night.

Tomorrow we hope to finish the hot exposed downhill into Banning for a resupply and hopefully some In and Out!
