We left big bear

We decided to hitch a ride. We stood by the hotel and tried to hitch and got someone pulled over almost immediately. What luck! We were picked up by Dakota in her minivan with her kids. They were in between a ceremony for softball and the actual game and had time to kill. It was cool talking to her a bit. She seemed really into the idea and I think she understood a lot of the benefits of doing a trip like this with kids.

We got hiking and it was a pleasant day.

We saw no poodle dog despite people reporting seeing a lot of it.

We did see some Joshua Tree.

We had lunch at a campsite with water and decomposing toilet.

Overall a nice day.

We got to a fairly large camp and set up. A few other groups joined us. Secret drew one of his post cards for that fun project where someone is collecting post cards from hikers. He found a pencil in Big Bear and put it in his fanny pack. Perfect!
