We crushed out of deep Creek today. There was lots to see.

Another bridge. More poison oak. Secret saw a snake right at the trail moving into the bushes.

We hiked along Deep Creek more from the bridge. This time on the other side of the creek.
We saw our second snake for the day lounging below the trail. It was huge. From looking at our Natural History of Southern California book it appears to be a King Snake.
We continued past the trash (which Natasha of course packed out a lot of) and graffiti and saw dam. Lunch!

The graffiti and trash is disappointing. It’s so pretty here but so many people misuse the area.
The same is cool. We had lunch here in shade at the overflow. We did shout in here to get some reverb but most of it was babbling and crying kids.
Secret is picking up Natasha’s habit and is picking up trash. Some we can clean but mostly here it’s glass and sharp stuff so we left it.

Then the trail changes a few more times.
Old road.

Trail.
My phone battery died. So no more pictures for a while.
We camped near a dirt road just after the junction to an RV campground. It was pretty but so incredibly windy. I had to get large boulders from the road for the guy lines. Natasha helped finish setting up the tent. We normally had been using two poles in an A form for floor space in our tent but today we set up one set of poles perfectly vertical – it’s a lot stiffer and stronger. Holds up to the wind better. All night I got wapped in the face by the tent walls shaking in the wind. It was a pretty tight pitch but the whole tent flexes. We didn’t use the panel mid points to pull the panels out more. I have lines for it but nowhere to run the lines here. I ran out of boulders.
