We left Agua Dulce at 4 pm to beat the heat today.  We left Serenity OASIS early to hang out in town so we have access to food and wifi and air conditioning. We hung out at the Mercantile most of the day on their back patio, had cool drinks and snacks, charged our devices and generally stayed cool. It was mother’s day so we called my mom on a video call for the first time on the trip. Overall hard for Secret to stay still but a good morning.

I don’t think a zero in Serenity OASIS was needed to be honest. And neither was the nearo. It was hot but the walk out isn’t strenuous and an umbrella does the heavy lifting.

We didn’t go too far. We cowboy camped by the river bed about 4 miles from town. It was beautiful. We had a decently private spot but the trail could see us and we could see it up the holl. Secret was so excited! I hope never to forget the sound of him squealing when he realized I was laying the bathtub floor out and no tent. What does that mean? Cowboy camping!

It was a clear night. The stars and moon are intimidatingly bright.
