Toothless was once again up bright and early around 5:30am; it was raining it still though and we still needed his diapers to dry, so we didn’t start packing up yet. After some crawling all over us, thankfully we were able to convince him to go back to sleep until 7am.
It was still raining off and on, so we took advantage of the cabin to wait until his diapers dried some more. The other hikers were also having a slow morning and Toothless was very popular with them. Eventually we had enough dry diapers and we finally got on the trail around 12pm – probably one of our latest starts ever!

The trail was just as steep downhill as up and our descent was very slow. There is the occasional pretty spot, but most of the hike was pretty monotonous through forested terrain.

We finally made it to the lake in the late afternoon and the sun made an appearance! We took advantage and strung up a line to fully dry the rest of the diapers. We enjoyed dinner in the sun and then tucked in for the evening.
